We enjoyed a few days in Somerset. Based at Travelodge Ilminster. We took a look at the remains of Chard Canal. The museum was closed for the winter period. We went onto Taunton and Bridgewater at Maunsel. Some good walks around here. The centre of the universe and the planets laid out on one walk. The children have Mister Men book figures to discover. We purchased some gifts from Perrys Cider

We have enjoyed a weekend touring Warwickshire. The museum in Warwick market place is well worth a visit. Social History, Huge Stuffed Bear, Coins, Fossils, A Stag Skeleton, roman remains, paintings and more. The Saltisford Canal Basin jam packed. Lovely Gardens Too. Part 3 Montreal. 5th and 6th Stayed at the Comfort Inn Boucherville. This Hotel did not have a dining area. We had to get Breakfast from Reception and take it back to our room. Seeing the power of Niagara Falls was awe inspiring, but more was yet to come on our adventure. Sunday I drove to the Eirie Canal at Lockport. I took loads of photos. We enjoyed a great deal of exploration and education on our recent trip to America. The escaping slaves on The Underground Railroad with "Moses" Harriet Tubman. The Civil War and Gettysburg. The Native Americans or Indians and how few survived massacre. The numbers who came from Bolivia or further afield, oppressed peoples settling in Lancaster County. So much more to investigate yet. We enjoyed a few days travelling in the Cotswolds. We based ourselves in Cheltenham and enjoyed the whole area around. Painwick is just wonderful. . The church has 99 Yew trees in the grounds. There was a couple exercising their husky dogs with wheeled sled. They travel quite fast and can run for miles. The dogs were excited as they came out and enjoyed the run. It was getting dark so the photos of the sled could not be enhanced to show up, but this is one of the dogs. The chap has eight and the lady three. They live for around sixteen years. It is the end of the racing season.

Rabbit thro' galley Add caption Winding Point Bridge 28 Scraped Geese Rabbit through the galley windows and on the towpath, geese and goslings. Peace and quiet on the Grand Union Leicester Arm. What a super cruising experience in fine weather in April. Lots of other boats too.

What a shame. We have had to return home for a hospital appointment for a short period. At least the boat looks better. We shall contact John the joiner to get some more work done and leave Jubilee to his care. Soon we will be setting off for the summer. The webasto is still playing up and needs attention.

We ambled along the canal to bridge 23 where we stayed a couple of days. We have been cleaning and polishing Jubilee a little. We scraped the rust, sanded the woodwork. Rust remover and primer applied, followed by top coat. Woodwork was stained and varnished. Varoius bloggers have passed or been passed. Colin fixed the Webasto today. He had to pull the fuses a few times to get the control unit to light up. He also drained the burner pot and removed some water from the separator on the fuel line. It stopped again a couple of times before it cleared and ran for a couple of hours. Now switched off. We shall try again tomorrow.

A short three hour cruise today. We took the opportunity to wash the boat down and clean her up a little. Looks better, Need Jo to come and repaint her like Hadar! Moored in a peaceful spot by Bridge 27.
